Job Overview
- Marigold is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join its Campaign Monitor product engineering division. Operating within an autonomous, multi-disciplinary product team alongside UX designers and product managers, the engineer will construct scalable web applications, event-driven microservices, and distributed backend solutions. The position involves enhancing core feature sets, managing AWS cloud infrastructure, building APIs, and transitioning legacy Backbone.js frontend components toward modern React architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- ✦ Build and maintain event-driven microservices and RESTful APIs within a distributed system architecture.
- ✦ Develop and modernize dynamic web applications, migrating legacy Backbone.js codebases to React and Node.js.
- ✦ Provision, scale, and maintain cloud infrastructure across Amazon Web Services using EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, and Elasticsearch.
- ✦ Implement event streaming and big data processing pipelines utilizing Apache Kafka and Spark.
- ✦ Participate in end-to-end technical problem ownership, including scoping, architecture decisions, trade-off analysis, and long-term system maintainability.
- ✦ Conduct thorough code reviews and provide technical mentorship to elevate engineering quality across product teams.
- ✦ Participate in scheduled on-call rotations to support and maintain production software systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ✦ Strong fluency in at least two major programming languages, specifically C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- ✦ Practical experience building front-end web interfaces with React, Node.js, and Backbone.js.
- ✦ Proficiency with relational and non-relational database engines including SQL, RDS, Elasticsearch, and Cassandra.
- ✦ Ability to effectively utilize AI-augmented development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor while maintaining strict code quality, correctness, and security standards.
- ✦ Experience with data-driven decision making and application performance instrumentation techniques.
- ✦ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a track record of cross-functional team collaboration.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- ✦ Practical background in event streaming architectures and real-time processing frameworks like Apache Kafka and Spark.
- ✦ Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling, particularly Terraform and automated provisioning systems.
Recruitment and Interview Details
- ✦ The recruitment workflow is conducted primarily remotely across initial evaluation stages.
- ✦ One interview stage requires candidates to attend an in-person session.
- ✦ The final deadline for application submissions is November 2, 2026.
What the Company Offers
- ✦ Unlimited time off policy, flexible work schedule, fully remote options, and an additional paid day off for birthdays.
- ✦ Generous paid parental leave options catering to both parents.
- ✦ Home office setup allowance provided for new hires.
- ✦ Optional fortnightly team lunches and gatherings at WeWork offices, culture clubs, and an annual in-person DevCamp.
- ✦ Dedicated Change Days and Innovation Sprints to foster creative experimentation and technical exploration.
- ✦ Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, subscription to a wellbeing application, and annual flu vaccinations.
- ✦ Salary continuance insurance and life insurance coverage.
Application Tips
- Applicants may want to highlight their experience managing distributed architectures, writing clean code in C#, Java, or TypeScript, and migrating legacy JavaScript frameworks to React. Detailing past projects involving cloud deployment on AWS, database optimization, or event streaming with Kafka can help demonstrate technical depth. Candidates should also articulate how they incorporate AI coding tools into their workflow while upholding software security and architectural integrity.
