Job Overview
- Mimica is seeking an experienced Front-end Engineer to join its Mapper Team on a fully remote basis. As an AI-powered process intelligence company backed by Series B funding, Mimica builds software that turns enterprise workflows into data-driven insights and automated AI execution agents. In this role, you will play a central part in building and scaling real-time front-end applications, complex data visualizations, and interactive graph-editing tools that allow users to inspect process metrics and train underlying machine learning models.
- Working alongside senior engineers and product managers in a distributed scale-up environment, you will take complete ownership of technical initiatives across design, development, deployment, and performance monitoring. This position is ideal for a senior front-end specialist with deep expertise in React, client-side system architecture, and data-intensive Web applications who thrives in an autonomous, bottom-up engineering culture.
Key Responsibilities
- ★ Design and construct scalable data-visualization components that present complex workflow insights, process maps, and operational metrics effectively.
- ★ Build interactive, real-time front-end applications that enable multi-user editing of graph structures and AI model re-training inputs.
- ★ Lead technical initiatives across the complete project lifecycle, including initial scoping, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and observability.
- ★ Contribute to high-level system architecture decisions, technical documentation, and cross-team platform enhancements.
- ★ Collaborate closely with tech leads and product managers in cross-functional feature teams to execute product roadmap priorities.
- ★ Refine internal engineering rituals and practices within the front-end chapter to improve delivery effectiveness.
- ★ Participate in code reviews, review technical RFCs, and mentor peer engineers to elevate software quality standards across the organization.
- ★ Assist in scaling the engineering team by participating in candidate interview loops and technical onboarding.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ★ Advanced mastery of React, front-end architecture, state management patterns, and modern Web client concepts.
- ★ In-depth technical knowledge of front-end performance profiling and browser optimization strategies.
- ★ Strong grasp of advanced system design principles, fundamental data structures, and the architecture of data-intensive applications.
- ★ Practical familiarity with basic backend engineering tasks, such as adding API endpoints and adjusting server-side logic.
- ★ Proven track record of owning software projects end-to-end across design, execution, testing, release, and post-deployment monitoring.
- ★ Dedicated to delivering clean, testable, modular, well-documented code while actively reducing technical debt.
- ★ Professional fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical trade-offs.
Desired Skills and Experience
- ★ Prior experience working in high-growth technology scale-ups or as a founding engineer delivering iterative releases in fast-paced environments.
- ★ Specialized experience with Canvas-based rendering, graph visualization libraries, or interactive geometric data manipulation tools.
Geographic Eligibility & Work Location
- ★ Fully remote position supporting candidates located within specific timezone boundaries.
- ★ Eligible locations in Europe and Africa: Timezones operating between UTC-1 and UTC+3.
- ★ Eligible locations in the Americas: Eastern Time Zone (e.g., US East Coast, Toronto) or UTC-3 (e.g., Brazil, Argentina).
- ★ Hub locations include London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Canada, Dublin, Edinburgh, Estonia, Kraków, Poland, and Prague.
What the Company Offers
- ★ Competitive compensation packages alongside employee equity options.
- ★ Distributed work model supporting fully remote work, hub access, or hybrid choices.
- ★ Hardware setup including a company-issued laptop, home office stipend, and co-working allowance.
- ★ Flexible working hours and location autonomy.
- ★ Generous paid time off allowance in addition to local statutory holidays.
- ★ Enhanced parental leave benefits.
- ★ Comprehensive healthcare coverage and retirement benefits.
- ★ Annual learning and development budget for professional growth.
- ★ Regular team social events, virtual gatherings, and annual company workaway trips.
Recruitment and Selection Process
- ★ Stage 1: Recruiter screening discussion with a Technical Recruiter.
- ★ Stage 2: Asynchronous take-home technical challenge followed by a live discussion with peer engineers.
- ★ Stage 3: Live system design assessment with the Chapter Leader and technical colleagues.
- ★ Stage 4: Final behavioral and leadership interview with the Chapter Leader and Co-Founder/CTO.
