Job OverviewThis remote software engineering position centers on building, enhancing, and maintaining custom WordPress web applications and e-commerce platforms for an international client base. Working within a modern software house setting at Lama Media, the WordPress Developer will participate in full-stack implementation across both backend and frontend environments. Core development work involves writing backend logic in PHP, managing database structures using MySQL, and constructing modern client-side interfaces with HTML5, SASS (utilizing BEM methodology), and JavaScript tools such as jQuery and Ajax. Development teams utilize Git for version control and JIRA for task tracking while maintaining the flexibility to select preferred development software.
Key Responsibilities
- ▪ Build, optimize, and maintain custom WordPress websites and e-commerce solutions for global client projects.
- ▪ Write clean, maintainable backend code in PHP and handle MySQL database operations.
- ▪ Implement responsive frontend interfaces using HTML5, SASS with BEM conventions, and JavaScript libraries including jQuery and Ajax.
- ▪ Execute Git commands for code management and track technical tasks through JIRA.
- ▪ Identify performance bottlenecks and continuously implement technical improvements across mobile and web applications.
