Job Overview
- Axonius has partnered with the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program to offer active-duty military service members a 12-week remote fellowship in corporate cybersecurity account management. Operating as a Technical Account Manager (TAM) Fellow, participants undergo structured on-the-job training alongside senior technical account leaders to manage post-sale enterprise client relationships and bridge technical communication between clients and internal Product, Sales, Engineering, and Support divisions.
- Throughout the fellowship, candidates gain practical experience configuring software platform adapters, executing complex database queries, and building automated operational workflows to help client organizations maximize platform value. Designed specifically for service members transitioning out of military duty, this program translates operational technical experience into specialized commercial account management capabilities within the enterprise cybersecurity industry.
Key Responsibilities
- ★ Cultivate and manage technical enterprise client relationships while assisting with software configuration, platform adoption, and operational best practices.
- ★ Lead customer engagements, contribute to Quarterly Business Reviews, and present product demonstrations to executive and technical stakeholders.
- ★ Monitor, log, and address client technical risks and escalation processes using enterprise customer success tracking platforms.
- ★ Collaborate across internal Product Management and Engineering units to convey customer requirements and inform feature development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ★ Active-duty military status with official approval for the DoD SkillBridge program within the final 180 days of active service.
- ★ Operational background in military information technology, cyber operations, intelligence, or communications (such as COMSEC, G6, N6, or A6).
- ★ Practical understanding of foundational web networking protocols (HTTP/HTTPS) and data file handling (including CSV files and spreadsheets).
- ★ Demonstrated background preparing risk documentation, operational briefings, and executive presentations for senior military leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- ★ Industry cybersecurity or networking certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, CISSP, or equivalent formal military technical training.
- ★ Practical experience configuring firewalls, mapping network topologies, or working with endpoint security tools.
- ★ Knowledge of mapping technical environments to major cybersecurity and compliance frameworks (including NIST, CIS Top 18, or ISO standards).
- ★ Experience evaluating and aggregating multi-source vulnerability data from scanning tools such as Qualys or Tenable to identify emerging CVEs.
- ★ Familiarity with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and securing infrastructure across hybrid cloud assets.
Application Tips
- Applicants may want to highlight their experience managing complex technical systems, leading briefings for senior officers, and handling risk assessment reports within their resume. Emphasizing familiarity with networking protocols, data analysis in spreadsheets, and any military technical training or certifications such as Security+ or CCNA will demonstrate strong foundational readiness. Candidates should ensure their application explicitly details their DoD SkillBridge approval status and projected military discharge timeline to confirm eligibility for this 12-week fellowship.
