MyEdSpace is seeking a Tech Lead to direct technical strategy, mentor engineering talent, and partner closely with product teams.
Operating in a remote full-time capacity, the Tech Lead will combine hands-on software development with system architecture design and people management. The role involves guiding engineering standards across full-stack environments, driving DevOps and AI-assisted development practices, and leading a distributed team of engineers. This position requires candidates to have a minimum of 8 years of commercial software engineering experience and the ability to maintain regular working hour overlap with UK time zones. It is an ideal fit for senior technical leaders motivated by building performant digital products that deliver meaningful educational impact.

★ Guide software design, system architecture, and technical decision-making across backend and frontend applications.
★ Lead, mentor, and support a globally distributed engineering team through pair programming, peer reviews, 1:1 meetings, and career development support.
★ Partner cross-functionally with product and design leads to shape roadmap goals, define scope, and align engineering execution.
★ Establish technical excellence by promoting best practices in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), testing strategies, and clean code standards.

★ Minimum of 8 years of commercial software engineering experience.
★ Proven senior engineering experience within fast-paced, product-focused environments, including experience leading engineering teams or major projects.
★ Deep understanding of software architecture principles, including API-first design, modular structures, asynchronous communication, and scaling patterns.
★ Active usage of artificial intelligence tools, large language models (LLMs), and agentic workflows in daily software development routines.
★ Comprehensive full-stack engineering background featuring strong backend expertise and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks, preferably React.js.
★ Proficiency in Agile and Lean software development methodologies focused on shipping incremental value.
★ Experience building and deploying applications within Docker-based, cloud-native environments using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
★ Track record of architecting and launching high-performing, user-centric digital products.
★ Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset suited for working across multidisciplinary teams and time zones, specifically maintaining working hour overlap with the UK.
