This full-time, remote position is open to qualified students across Canada who can maintain a minimum 6-hour daily overlap with the Eastern Time Zone. Reporting directly to a Staff Software Engineer, the intern will work across offensive and defensive security functions, constructing automation tools, triaging vulnerability reports, conducting offensive testing, and integrating AI-driven development workflows. The platform operates on a technology stack featuring Python (FastAPI), TypeScript (React), Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AWS, and AI coding tools including Cursor and Claude. Interns collaborate directly alongside full-time developers on production projects to build practical Application Security (AppSec) and DevSecOps skills.
Key Responsibilities
- ⇒ Integrate automated security scanning tools and policy checks into existing CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- ⇒ Script and build security automation tooling and proofs of concept primarily using Python.
- ⇒ Utilize artificial intelligence and large language model workflows to streamline daily application security tasks.
- ⇒ Perform offensive security testing to identify product vulnerabilities prior to release.
- ⇒ Analyze, triage, and patch identified security findings, including routine software dependency version updates.
- ⇒ Collaborate with product software engineers, DevOps specialists, and fraud teams to embed security practices into development lifecycles.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ⇒ Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- ⇒ Demonstrated interest in application and infrastructure security, including familiarity with OWASP Top 10 standards and common vulnerability categories.
- ⇒ Practical experience identifying security vulnerabilities through Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges, security labs, or academic coursework.
- ⇒ Foundational understanding of web architectures and networking fundamentals, including HTTP protocols, REST APIs, TLS, and DNS.
- ⇒ Solid core programming fundamentals, with proficiency in Python preferred.
- ⇒ Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across engineering units.
Preferred Qualifications
- ⇒ Possession of entry-level security certifications such as Security+, eJPT, or PJPT.
- ⇒ Previous internship experience in software engineering or cybersecurity roles.
- ⇒ Record of participation or success in Bug Bounty programs, CTF competitions, or technical security contests.
- ⇒ Experience applying AI models or LLMs to software development and security automation.
- ⇒ Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and container technologies, particularly AWS and Kubernetes.
- ⇒ Exposure to mobile application development frameworks or mobile security concepts.
- ⇒ Personal technical projects or code contributions visible on public platforms such as GitHub.
Technology Stack and Infrastructure
- ⇒ Microservices built with Python FastAPI backends and TypeScript React front-end interfaces running on Kubernetes (EKS).
- ⇒ Data systems managed via PostgreSQL (RDS), Redis (ElastiCache), Kafka (MSK), Elasticsearch, and Snowflake.
- ⇒ Cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS utilizing Istio, Helm, Terraform, Crossplane, and Kyverno.
- ⇒ Security, application metrics, and system logging managed using Datadog.
- ⇒ AI-first development environment leveraging Cursor, Claude, and proprietary internal AI agents.
What the Company Offers

- ⇒ One-time home office setup allowance of $300.
- ⇒ Weekly Friday UberEats allowance of $25.
- ⇒ Learning and development stipend of $300 per term.
- ⇒ Fitness and wellness stipend of $120 per term.
