Job Overview
- An international software engineering opportunity is available for a Senior Software Engineer to join LT's engineering department in a full-time, fully remote capacity. Working within a close-knit, highly collaborative team of 3 to 5 members, the engineer will design, architect, and deliver scalable software solutions that address complex business challenges.
- This position leverages modern software engineering paradigms, combining Domain-Driven Design (DDD)—including bounded contexts, aggregate modeling, and domain events—with advanced event-driven architectures like CQRS and Event Sourcing. The role incorporates cutting-edge agentic coding workflows using platforms such as Cursor and Claude to plan, write, refactor, and test high-quality code efficiently. Core technology stacks utilized across systems include Python with Django, alongside C# and .NET frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- ★ Collaborate within small engineering pods of 3 to 5 members to architect, build, and deploy software solutions for complex business problems.
- ★ Integrate agentic development tools, including Cursor and Claude, into daily workflows for software planning, implementation, refactoring, and automated testing.
- ★ Apply Domain-Driven Design principles to model software systems using aggregate boundaries, bounded contexts, and explicit domain events.
- ★ Construct and maintain distributed, event-driven backend architectures utilizing CQRS and event-sourced patterns.
- ★ Work alongside product owners, external clients, and software engineering peers to translate fuzzy project requirements into clean technical specifications.
- ★ Provide technical mentorship to team members, promoting architectural best practices and efficient agentic coding techniques across the engineering organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ★ At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering and backend system design.
- ★ Proven proficiency in leveraging agentic coding utilities (such as Cursor and Claude) to write, review, and refine software while maintaining complete code authority.
- ★ Practical knowledge and application of Domain-Driven Design concepts, including domain modeling, bounded contexts, and aggregate boundaries.
- ★ Hands-on background in constructing event-driven systems utilizing Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) and Event Sourcing mechanics.
- ★ Strong software engineering experience developing applications using Python and the Django framework.
- ★ Solid software development experience using C# and the .NET framework.
- ★ Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, technical curiosity, and enthusiasm for continuous learning.
Who May Be a Good Fit for This Role?
- This role may be suitable for candidates who are experienced backend or software engineers seeking a high-autonomy, remote position within a streamlined, low-friction engineering culture. Software professionals who have already integrated agentic tools like Cursor and Claude into their everyday coding workflow—and who know how to guide and critique generated code effectively—will find this environment particularly rewarding. Additionally, it suits engineers who appreciate clean architectural patterns like Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, and event sourcing, and who enjoy collaborating in small, multi-functional teams while mentoring colleagues on modern development practices.
Suggested Interview Questions
- Q: How do you integrate agentic coding tools like Cursor and Claude into your daily software development workflow while maintaining high code quality and architectural integrity?
- Q: Can you explain how you have applied Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles—specifically aggregates, bounded contexts, and domain events—in a past project?
- Q: How do you design and maintain event-driven systems using CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation) and Event Sourcing?
- Q: What are the main trade-offs or challenges you have encountered when transitioning from traditional CRUD architectures to event-sourced architectures?
- Q: How do you approach building backend applications using Python and Django versus C# and .NET, and how do you choose between them for different domain services?
- Q: How do you collaborate with product owners and clients to translate vague or evolving business requirements into precise technical architecture?
- Q: What techniques do you use to review and validate code generated by AI coding tools to ensure security, performance, and maintainability?
- Q: Can you describe a scenario where you mentored fellow engineers on adoption of new software architecture patterns or modern development tools?
- Q: How do you manage data consistency, event bus messaging, and state reconciliation in distributed event-driven microservices?
- Q: How do you balance rapid delivery using modern coding tools with writing long-term maintainable, clean code in a small, remote team setting?
Application Tips
- Applicants may want to highlight relevant experience with Python, Django, C#, and .NET in their CV and portfolio. When preparing application materials, it is beneficial to detail specific projects that showcase event-driven architecture, CQRS, Event Sourcing, or Domain-Driven Design principles. Highlighting practical familiarity with agentic tools like Cursor and Claude—including how you prompt, verify, and maintain ownership over AI-assisted code—can demonstrate alignment with the team's operational style.
