Job Overview

  • Odin is seeking a Founding Software Engineer to help build next-generation investment infrastructure for private capital markets. Functioning as a comprehensive administration platform for private investment firms, Odin simplifies raising and deploying capital by managing legal structuring, investor onboarding, KYC/AML compliance, payments, taxation, and financial reporting. The platform currently administers over $500 million in assets for more than 10,000 founders, VCs, and angel investors, supporting investments in prominent companies such as OpenAI, SpaceX, Anduril, xAI, and ElevenLabs.
  • In this role, senior software engineers will take ownership of critical backend systems built primarily in Go. Odin emphasizes deeply integrating AI tools across engineering workflows to maximize development velocity. Candidates will make key architectural decisions, establish patterns for AI-assisted code generation, and navigate the technical complexities of regulated cross-border financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • ★ Design, build, and maintain production backend systems in Go to support international capital deployment.
  • ★ Exercise ownership over core platform architectures, establishing patterns for system structure and AI-generated code.
  • ★ Integrate modern AI tooling directly into software development workflows to accelerate feature delivery and team velocity.
  • ★ Collaborate on product features that streamline investor onboarding, compliance, tax calculations, and payment operations.
  • ★ Establish technical standards across the engineering team through rigorous code reviews and system improvements.
  • ★ Balance rapid feature shipping with the reliability required for regulated financial transaction platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • ★ Extensive background in building, scaling, and maintaining complex production software systems.
  • ★ Strong architectural judgment with the capability to guide system design and technical trade-offs.
  • ★ Proficiency with or willingness to quickly learn the Go programming language.
  • ★ Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into daily engineering practices to improve workflow output.
  • ★ Direct and constructive communication skills for giving and receiving feedback.
  • ★ Strong technical instincts regarding project priorities, knowing when to build robust architectures versus lightweight solutions.
  • ★ Eagerness to navigate domain concepts across finance, regulatory compliance, and multi-jurisdictional rules.

Selection & Interview Process

  • ★ Stage 1 - Introductory Call: An initial conversation with the Head of People and Talent to discuss candidate background, working preferences, and team culture.
  • ★ Stage 2 - System Design Session: A practical interview with members of the engineering team focusing on system architecture and problem-solving without LeetCode or take-home tests.
  • ★ Stage 3 - Paid Trial Day: A hands-on evaluation day spent working directly on a realistic Odin engineering project.

Who May Be a Good Fit for This Role?

  • This role may be suitable for experienced backend developers and senior software engineers who thrive in high-ownership startup environments. Candidates who combine strong system architecture foundations with an active interest in AI-assisted development will find this position well aligned with their approach. It is a great fit for engineers who appreciate direct feedback, enjoy untangling complex financial or regulatory logic, and prefer practical system design discussions over traditional algorithmic coding assessments.

What the Company Offers

  • ★ Private medical insurance provided through Vitality.
  • ★ Paid sick leave, including specialized support for fertility treatments and pregnancy loss.
  • ★ Access to Spill for professional mental health support.
  • ★ £1,000 annual wellness allowance for health, fitness, or therapy expenses.
  • ★ Enhanced parental leave benefits covering maternity, paternity, adoption, and partner leave.
  • ★ Pension scheme featuring a 4% employer contribution with salary sacrifice options.
  • ★ 33 total days of time off, including 25 annual leave days, 2 wellness days, and flexible bank holidays.
  • ★ Global work-from-anywhere allowance for up to 6 weeks per year.
  • ★ Dedicated extra day off for your birthday.

Application Tips

  • Applicants may want to highlight their experience architecting and operating production systems, particularly in backend services or regulated financial platforms. Emphasizing how you incorporate AI tools into your development process to increase efficiency and maintain code quality will align well with the team's engineering philosophy. If you have prior experience with Go or complex multi-jurisdictional software, be sure to detail those projects. Candidates should also prepare to discuss practical system design choices and architectural trade-offs ahead of the interview stages.
