In this role, engineers work within small, cross-functional units responsible for end-to-end product delivery, spanning core financial capabilities such as direct Faster Payments, card issuing, cross-border transactions, and interest-bearing deposit accounts. The position centers on designing robust, distributed backend architecture using functional programming paradigms while maintaining a high bar for system reliability, maintainability, and observability.

Key Responsibilities
- ✧ Formulate technical RFCs, evaluate architectural choices, and design scalable backend systems for core banking features.
- ✧ Build high-volume transaction reconciliation engines, double-entry accounting ledgers, and secure webhook messaging systems.
- ✧ Lead end-to-end feature delivery from initial conceptualization alongside product managers to live production deployment.
- ✧ Maintain operational responsibility for deployed services, including real-time monitoring, debugging, and continuous performance refinement.
- ✧ Establish reusable architectural patterns, review peer code, and participate in technical pairing sessions to elevate engineering standards.
- ✧ Create reliable API versioning frameworks and compliance-ready payment authorization workflows.
Required Skills and Qualifications
