Job Overview

FutureFit AI is looking for a full-stack Software Engineer across the mid-to-senior spectrum to join its remote engineering team in North America. The organization develops AI-driven software designed to modernize workforce development and accelerate job placement for individuals navigating career transitions and economic barriers. Engineers on this consolidated team take complete ownership of user-facing features across both frontend and backend platforms.
In this role, you will work within a modern technical ecosystem centered around React, TypeScript, Node.js, relational and document databases, and cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS.

🔹 Construct, test, and maintain full-stack web application features across client-side interfaces and backend server components.
🔹 Collaborate with product management, UX design, and data science teams to translate business and user requirements into scalable software.
🔹 Author clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code while upholding continuous software quality through peer code reviews.
🔹 Evaluate architectural decisions, weigh technical trade-offs, and design robust system structures for key platform initiatives.
🔹 Drive technical projects independently from initial concept through to final production release and deployment monitoring.
🔹 Mentor fellow team members and establish shared engineering practices to elevate overall code quality and developer productivity.

🔹 Practical experience developing and deploying production-grade full-stack web applications (roughly 5+ years for senior applicants, mid-level candidates welcomed).
🔹 Proficient hands-on development capabilities utilizing React and TypeScript on the front end.
🔹 Demonstrated backend development capability, with a strong focus on server-side architecture and logic.
🔹 Working familiarity with database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or related data engines.
🔹 Demonstrated capability to solve ambiguous technical challenges and execute projects autonomously with limited oversight.

🔹 First 30 Days: Complete environment setup, ship a functional improvement to production within week one, establish cross-functional relationships, and familiarize yourself with the codebase, cloud stack, and user personas.
🔹 First 60 Days: Independently manage a complete feature from design through production, conduct constructive code reviews, and collaborate closely with product and design teams.
🔹 First 90 Days: Deliver meaningful product enhancements to end users, proactively optimize team workflows or test infrastructure, and lead architectural design for larger initiatives if at the senior level.

🔹 Fully remote work arrangement open to residents across Canada and the United States, with a strong preference for candidates in the Eastern Time zone.
