Job Overview
- Arqiva is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with expertise in Full-Stack or DevOps/Cloud Engineering to contribute to the design, development, testing, and operation of secure software systems. - This position focuses on translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions within a cross-functional engineering environment. The role incorporates modern development practices—including responsible utilization of AI-assisted coding tools and agentic engineering methods—to accelerate feature delivery while maintaining human oversight of software architecture, security, and quality assurance. Opportunities are available across Full-Stack (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Next.js) and DevOps/Cloud Engineering (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes) specialisms.
Key Responsibilities
- ✦ Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to establish functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and system architecture.
- ✦ Design, construct, test, and deploy software features, system enhancements, and defect resolutions.
- ✦ Utilize AI-assisted developer tools and agentic engineering workflows responsibly to increase software delivery speed.
- ✦ Review, test, and validate both human-written and AI-generated outputs to ensure software security, maintainability, and quality.
- ✦ Build automated testing frameworks to verify solutions against functional and non-functional requirements.
- ✦ Participate actively in technical design reviews, code reviews, and system troubleshooting activities.
- ✦ Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and operational guidelines.
- ✦ Contribute to the ongoing improvement of engineering practices, tooling, and team workflows.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ✦ Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- ✦ Practical experience utilizing AI coding assistants and agentic development tools to support software delivery.
- ✦ Solid understanding of the capabilities, limitations, and security risks associated with AI-generated code.
- ✦ Experience validating software functionality against requirements using automated and manual testing strategies.
- ✦ Working knowledge of CI/CD build pipelines, Git version control, and Agile delivery frameworks.
- ✦ Understanding of cloud-native development practices, software security, system observability, and operational reliability.
- ✦ Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, engineering judgment, and strong software development fundamentals.
- ✦ Full-Stack & Backend Specialism: Proficiency in Python with experience designing and building secure APIs, microservices, and backend architectures.
- ✦ Full-Stack & Frontend Specialism: Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript with hands-on experience in React, Next.js, or modern frontend frameworks.
- ✦ DevOps & Cloud Specialism: Working knowledge of AWS cloud engineering, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Kubernetes deployments, and Python scripting.
Preferred Experience
- ✦ Holding an AWS technical certification is desirable for Cloud/DevOps specialisms.
