Job Overview
- Netic is offering 12-week full-time internship opportunities for Software Engineers on its Agent Platform team in San Francisco, with flexible start dates spanning from winter 2026 through summer 2027. Netic provides AI revenue solutions for essential service industries across North America, backed by $43M in venture funding from major investors including Founders Fund and Greylock.
- Interns on the Agent Platform team move beyond writing basic prompt scripts to tackle fundamental applied AI challenges. The work focuses on constructing real-time orchestration layers, execution sandboxes, evaluation loops, and "Agent Manager" platforms that empower AI agents to author, evaluate, supervise, and optimize other agents autonomously. Engineering across a modern stack comprising Python (asyncio, FastAPI) and TypeScript (Node.js, React), interns build full-stack agentic features and implement system guardrails informed by live customer workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- ▪ Architect and deploy real-time orchestration systems that route, sequence, and supervise multi-agent workflows across customer environments.
- ▪ Build execution harnesses, sandbox testing environments, and automated evaluation loops for validating agent outputs prior to production deployment.
- ▪ Develop features for the internal "Agent Manager" platform, implementing safety guardrails, automated rollback paths, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- ▪ Design, code, and ship full-stack features for Netic's agent platform, covering data models, backend APIs, and frontend developer tooling.
- ▪ Analyze real customer operational workflows to identify automation boundaries, translating edge cases into robust platform safeguards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ▪ Strong systems programming fundamentals in Python (including asyncio and FastAPI) and TypeScript (Node.js and React).
- ▪ Solid computer science foundation with an understanding of distributed systems concepts.
- ▪ Exposure to agent tooling and concepts—such as LLM APIs, evaluation frameworks, RAG, or agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Model Context Protocol/MCP)—through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
- ▪ Demonstrated interest in multi-step, multi-agent orchestration, including state synchronization, tool execution, and failure recovery.
- ▪ Proven track record of shipping software projects end-to-end, rather than solely completing isolated academic assignments.
- ▪ Comfort working in fast-evolving, ambiguous technical areas where industry playbooks do not yet exist.
Company Culture & Core Values
- ▪ Dedication to active building and engineering craftsmanship.
- ▪ Obsession with customer outcomes integrated into every line of code.
- ▪ High internal locus of control and personal accountability.
- ▪ Focus on execution finesse, first-principles thinking, and continuous refinement.
Who May Be a Good Fit for This Role?
- This role may be suitable for computer science and software engineering students who possess strong systems programming skills in Python and TypeScript and are eager to work on distributed agentic infrastructure. Candidates who have actively experimented with LLM APIs, evaluation frameworks, or agent orchestration tools (such as LangChain or MCP) through personal projects or coursework will find this work highly engaging. It is especially well-suited for autonomous, curiosity-driven builders who enjoy taking full ownership of end-to-end software projects, thrive in open-ended technical environments, and look forward to collaborating on-site in San Francisco with a dedicated engineering mentor.
What the Company Offers
- ▪ 12-week full-time internship program focused on core agentic platform infrastructure.
- ▪ Dedicated 1-on-1 technical mentor providing guidance throughout the duration of the internship.
- ▪ Hands-on experience building frontier multi-agent systems on-site in San Francisco.
Application Tips
- Applicants may want to highlight personal software projects, open-source contributions, or internship deliverables where they designed systems end-to-end using Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, or React. Emphasizing any practical experience with LLM APIs, evaluation frameworks, retrieval architectures, or agent tooling (such as LangChain or MCP) will effectively demonstrate technical curiosity. In your resume, consider highlighting coursework or project experience related to distributed systems, asynchronous programming, or state management.
