Job Overview
- StackWorx is inviting applications from motivated fresh university graduates for a 2-month, on-site Software Development Internship at its Lahore office. Operating from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, this internship program is structured to provide hands-on experience in production-level engineering workflows across two technical tracks: Track A focusing on Ruby on Rails (RoR) and Track B focusing on React.js and the MERN Stack.
- Under direct mentorship from experienced senior developers, interns contribute to active software projects, apply Object-Oriented Programming principles, and collaborate within a professional development setting. Providing a monthly stipend of PKR 20,000, this program bridges academic education and industry software engineering standards. High-performing interns may also be considered for future full-time software developer opportunities upon successful completion of the two-month tenure.
Key Responsibilities
- ★ Assist senior software engineering mentors in developing, testing, and maintaining features for active client and internal projects.
- ★ Collaborate with engineering team members to follow modern software development workflows and participate in code reviews.
- ★ Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and web technologies to resolve technical tasks and system challenges.
- ★ Utilize version control systems like Git to manage source code updates, track revisions, and maintain project repositories.
- ★ Participate in daily team syncs and developmental activities during on-site working hours (12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ★ Degree completion as a fresh graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- ★ Solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- ★ For Track A (Ruby on Rails): Basic working knowledge of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
- ★ For Track B (React/MERN Stack): Basic working knowledge of React.js, JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
- ★ Practical familiarity with Git version control for code repository management.
- ★ Strong problem-solving abilities paired with a proactive eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
- ★ Effective verbal and written communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- ★ Preferred consideration given to candidates with academic project experience, personal software builds, freelance experience, or an active GitHub presence.
