vCluster Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help shape the future of Kubernetes multi-tenancy and cloud infrastructure for artificial intelligence workloads. This remote role centers on building resilient, high-performance backend systems using the Go programming language while diving deep into Kubernetes internal mechanics, including container orchestration, networking, and storage architectures.
Engineers in this position exercise complete autonomy over feature creation, guiding technical solutions from initial architectural specification to final production deployment. Beyond internal platform engineering, the role involves active participation in open-source projects to establish next-generation tenancy and resource isolation models for cloud providers and enterprise AI systems globally.

★ Architecting and engineering high-performance backend software for the vCluster platform utilizing Go.
★ Working extensively with Kubernetes internal mechanisms to advance container orchestration capabilities.
★ Taking complete end-to-end ownership of feature development from architectural design through to release.
★ Contributing to open-source initiatives to define advanced tenancy models for resource sharing and isolation.
★ Solving intricate systems architecture challenges that require deep foundational technical analysis.

★ Advanced expertise in Kubernetes internal mechanics, including architectural patterns, networking, and storage systems.
★ Demonstrated proficiency in the Go programming language with the ability to produce clean and efficient code.
★ Active engagement in software development outside of work, evidenced by open-source contributions or personal coding projects.
★ Strong technical agency and self-direction to identify infrastructure problems and implement autonomous solutions.
★ Background working within high-growth, fast-paced startup environments comfortable with evolving priorities.
★ History of contributions to upstream Kubernetes projects, documentation, or Special Interest Groups (preferred).
★ Prior engineering experience within early-stage venture-backed organizations (preferred).
