Makai Labs is seeking a Senior Next.js Developer to join its Engineering team in a fully remote capacity. Makai develops artificial intelligence and data-driven solutions to address complex operational and strategic challenges for enterprise clients. Its core automation platform combines pre-built modular components with unified human-machine interfaces, ensuring human oversight serves as the final quality and accuracy safeguard for automated business processes.
In this full-time role, you will lead frontend web engineering initiatives, building high-performance, user-centric interfaces for Makai’s platform. You will collaborate across departments with backend engineers and web designers to transform UI/UX concepts into reliable, production-ready software features.

★ Engineer, test, and release modern user-facing application features across core web platforms.
★ Optimize frontend applications to achieve maximum execution speed, responsiveness, and system scalability.
★ Assess UI/UX design wireframes to confirm technical feasibility and seamless interface integration.
★ Collaborate closely with backend software engineers and web designers to enhance product usability.
★ Write clean, robust, well-documented, and maintainable code adhering to established standards.
★ Support, update, and improve existing enterprise web applications and UI component libraries.
★ Perform thorough performance testing to ensure platform stability and cross-device compatibility.

★ Minimum of 5 years of professional web development experience, with at least 3 years specializing in Next.js.
★ Proven track record of successful collaboration within fully remote work environments.
★ Advanced understanding of core web markup and styling standards, specifically HTML5 and CSS3.
★ Practical experience building user interfaces with Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or Joy UI.
★ Familiarity with RESTful API integration and modern application authorization protocols.
★ Hands-on experience using frontend state management tools such as Redux or MobX.
★ Working knowledge of modern frontend build pipelines, bundlers, and developer tools.
★ Strong technical diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
★ Excellent written and verbal English communication skills tailored for asynchronous communication.
