Job Overview

WSP is seeking a Mid to Senior Level Web Developer to join its Visual Studios Interactive Department within the Advanced Complimentary Services division. This position offers full-time remote work flexibility from any location outside of a traditional WSP office or job site. The role focuses on bridging creative UI/UX design with robust web development to build high-impact, interactive digital tools and scalable web applications for desktop and mobile environments.
Developers in this role oversee the complete software development lifecycle—ranging from early requirements gathering and prototyping to application testing, deployment, user support, and ongoing technical maintenance. Working closely with UI/UX designers, visualization specialists, and cross-functional project teams, the engineer will turn visual wireframes into performant web applications while incorporating geospatial mapping APIs and cloud-first methodologies.

□ Architect and construct modern web applications based on UI/UX mockups and wireframes.
□ Transform functional requirements and graphic designs into scalable, high-performance web solutions.
□ Enhance application responsiveness, execution speed, and cross-browser performance across mobile and desktop platforms.
□ Integrate Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and mapping features using specialized APIs and SDKs.
□ Implement cloud-first development practices and responsive web design standards.
□ Manage source code repositories and version control workflows utilizing Git in collaborative team settings.
□ Partner with cross-functional teams including designers, project managers, technical leads, and clients throughout project lifecycles.
□ Guide and mentor fellow developers through peer code reviews, constructive feedback, and technical guidance.
□ Create unit test suites and conduct exploratory and guided testing to ensure application stability.
□ Mitigate security vulnerabilities across web applications, including risks identified in the OWASP Top 10 framework.
□ Troubleshoot, maintain, and debug existing and new web applications to ensure operational continuity.
□ Deliver end-user technical support and execute additional technical responsibilities as assigned.

□ 6 or more years of dedicated professional experience in web application development.
□ Deep technical command of HTML5, CSS3, and core responsive web design principles.
□ Proven track record of supporting and maintaining client-facing production web applications.
□ Practical experience programmatically integrating mapping platforms and location APIs such as Google Maps.
□ Advanced understanding of JavaScript programming, JSON data structures, AJAX, and asynchronous request handling.
□ Ability to write clean, self-documenting code and thorough technical documentation.
□ Demonstrated skill in crafting interactive web animations and engaging user interface motion elements.
□ Experience mentoring team members and conducting collaborative peer code reviews.
□ Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities in complex software environments.
□ Version control expertise using Git within multi-developer team environments.
□ Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
□ Demonstrated capability to manage project scope, timelines, and priorities in deadline-driven settings.

□ 2 or more years of experience utilizing Vue.js or similar modern frontend frameworks.
□ Hands-on familiarity with Quasar or equivalent UI component libraries and frameworks.
□ Sound comprehension of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and foundational data structures.
□ Experience implementing animated and interactive SVG graphics.
□ Mid-level database management experience with Azure Cosmos DB or relational database systems.
□ Practical understanding of web accessibility standards including WCAG and Section 508 guidelines.
□ Experience working with WordPress or alternative Content Management Systems (CMS).
□ Active GitHub portfolio or documented contributions to open-source software projects.
