Job Overview

  • This Senior Full Stack Engineer role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive the technical evolution of enterprise systems at a leading financial services organization. Positioned within a collaborative engineering environment, the position involves end-to-end participation across the entire software development lifecycle—from early-stage solution design and architecture to coding, testing, refactoring, documentation, and ongoing application support.
  • Working alongside Staff and Principal Engineers, the successful candidate will help shape system architecture, introduce modern development workflows, and elevate overall team capabilities. The role balances hands-on technical execution with leadership, requiring strong proficiency in C# and the Microsoft .NET framework alongside modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, or Svelte.

About the Company

  • Greenstone is a leading distributor of direct insurance products in Australia, with operations extending across Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Operating since 2007, the company manages a portfolio of trusted brands, including Buddy, Australian Seniors, New Zealand Seniors, OneChoice, Real Insurance, SPCA Pet Insurance, North Cover, FiftyUp, and Guardian. Greenstone operates on core organizational values: Customer First, We Care, One Team, and Results Driven.

Key Responsibilities

  • ★ Architect, build, and support high-performing applications across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • ★ Execute hands-on engineering tasks, including solution design, software development, testing, refactoring, and code maintenance.
  • ★ Partner with Staff and Principal Engineers to formulate architectural strategies and drive project delivery.
  • ★ Provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and foster continuous skill development across the department.
  • ★ Contribute to architectural decisions and modernize legacy applications to enhance stability and scalability.
  • ★ Introduce improved engineering standards and best practices to build technical capability across the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • ★ Demonstrated background in designing and developing systems using C# and the Microsoft .NET stack.
  • ★ Proficiency in building user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks and technologies, such as React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • ★ Practical experience with various data persistence platforms, including SQL Server, DynamoDB, Redis, or NoSQL databases.
  • ★ Comprehensive understanding of system architectures, including monolithic, distributed, microservice, serverless, cloud-native, and RESTful APIs.
  • ★ Hands-on experience working with cloud environments (preferably AWS) and containerized applications.
  • ★ Familiarity with DevOps tooling and CI/CD automation systems, such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Octopus Deploy.
  • ★ Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges.
  • ★ Capability to collaborate directly with business stakeholders to convert user requirements into well-designed applications.
  • ★ Proven ability to write clear, detailed, and accessible technical documentation.
  • ★ Passion for knowledge sharing, team collaboration, and peer mentoring.

What the Company Offers

  • ★ Flexible working arrangements and flexi days.
  • ★ Annual $1,200 allowance for travel or parking.
  • ★ Modern office facilities featuring an on-site gym and dedicated company café offering weekly complimentary lunches.
  • ★ Fully automated, self-serve food and drink marketplace (Morsl market) providing a variety of meals and refreshment options.
  • ★ Comprehensive health and well-being initiatives and programs.
  • ★ Access to internal leadership and emotional intelligence workshops.
  • ★ Quarterly recognition awards and an annual company conference.
  • ★ Retail discounts on movie tickets, zoo passes, live shows, and entertainment.

Application Tips

  • Applicants may want to highlight their experience designing and delivering scalable backend systems built on C# and the Microsoft .NET platform. It is beneficial to showcase specific projects where you worked across the full software lifecycle, including architecture design, API development, front-end implementation, and database management using SQL or NoSQL solutions. Demonstrating practical hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (especially AWS), containerization, and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines will strengthen an application. Candidates should also emphasize instances of technical leadership, such as mentoring colleagues, establishing engineering standards, or driving application modernization initiatives.
