Job Overview
- WebstaurantStore, a leading online platform for commercial foodservice equipment and a subsidiary of Clark Associates, is searching for a curious and proactive Front-End Developer Intern for the Summer 2027 season. Embedded within the Storefront engineering team, the intern will gain direct experience working on customer-facing e-commerce applications that serve millions of shoppers nationwide. Program participants collaborate with full-stack developers, software engineers, product designers, and product owners while writing modular, clean, and well-tested code using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Key Responsibilities
- ▪ Construct and refine customer-facing e-commerce web features utilizing React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS in a production codebase.
- ▪ Participate in technical planning and design sessions with product managers and product designers to translate concepts into functional user interfaces.
- ▪ Conduct regular pair-programming sessions with experienced engineers to transition toward independently managing feature work.
- ▪ Write unit tests for newly implemented code changes and maintain clear technical documentation alongside feature deliverables.
- ▪ Assist in maintaining shared internal development tools and extending the team's frontend component library under mentor guidance.
- ▪ Participate in code review processes to receive feedback, improve code quality, and maintain engineering standards.
- ▪ Prepare and present a final internship showcase outlining project contributions, technical growth, and program insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ▪ Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, preferably focused on Computer Science, Web Development, or a related discipline.
- ▪ Foundational knowledge of modern web development languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- ▪ Academic, project, or bootcamp exposure to React or similar frontend frameworks, accompanied by a desire to learn new technologies.
- ▪ Problem-solving ability with a focus on debugging user interface issues and resolving layout challenges.
- ▪ Proactive communication skills to articulate technical work clearly and keep project team members informed.
- ▪ Ability to work independently, meet established project commitments, and adapt in a fast-paced software development environment.
- ▪ Legal authorization to work in the United States as a W-2 employee without requiring current or future H-1B visa sponsorship.
- ▪ Primary legal residence in one of the following states: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY.

- ▪ Home internet setup featuring a router and modem, preferably with a wired Ethernet connection.
- ▪ Physical residence address suitable for equipment delivery (PO Boxes are not permitted).
- ▪ Willingness and capability to participate actively in team collaboration via webcam, voice, and online chat.
Who May Be a Good Fit for This Role?

Candidates who possess a solid grasp of core web principles—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—and are eager to deepen their knowledge of React and TypeScript in a production environment will find this internship well-suited to their goals. It is particularly ideal for collaborative, self-motivated learners who enjoy pair-programming, welcome constructive code feedback, and communicate effectively across fully remote teams.
