Job Overview

Doit is seeking a skilled and driven Backend Developer based in the United States to join its global Engineering department on a full-time remote basis. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and scaling the backend architecture, APIs, and infrastructure that power BJAK's AI Neobank application. The position involves building robust core systems for customer onboarding, transaction processing, digital payments, foreign exchange, risk assessment, and third-party integrations.
This position is ideally suited for production-tested backend engineers who thrive in fast-paced fintech environments, prioritize high software quality, and enjoy crafting scalable solutions for real-world financial applications. Working alongside cross-functional teams spanning product, frontend, mobile, and artificial intelligence, you will play a central role in driving financial accessibility through modern, AI-powered banking tools.

◯ Construct scalable, secure backend services and APIs for core banking functionalities, including payment systems, account creation, transfers, card issuance, FX, rewards, and KYC workflows.
◯ Architect reliable server-side systems capable of executing live financial transactions, supporting operational workflows, and accommodating future product expansion.
◯ Integrate backend infrastructure seamlessly with external financial institutions, payment gateways, internal platforms, AI microservices, and third-party providers.
◯ Take ownership of overall backend performance, ensuring rigorous security, low latency, robust observability, high data integrity, and swift incident response.
◯ Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, mobile developers, and AI specialists to deploy new features efficiently and safely.
◯ Enhance existing codebases and operational efficiency by streamlining workflows, eliminating manual tasks, and implementing automated processes.

◯ Proven track record of backend engineering experience developing and supporting production-grade systems.
◯ Solid understanding of modern API architecture, database management, authentication and authorization protocols, message queues, scheduled jobs, event-driven architecture, and system integrations.
◯ Demonstrated experience constructing services at scale for end-users or internal operational infrastructure.
◯ Strong engineering mindset centered around code reliability, system security, effective debugging, and data precision.
◯ Ability to make sensible, practical technical trade-offs between rapid delivery, system correctness, scalability, and maintainability.
◯ Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
◯ Current residency within the United States.
◯ Previous experience in fintech, digital banking, payment systems, digital wallets, KYC compliance, or fraud prevention is advantageous but not mandatory for candidates with exceptional core engineering fundamentals.
