Job Overview

  • de Anda Capital is a principal-led investment firm specializing in private equity, venture capital, and search fund structures, having completed over 140 transactions. The firm is seeking a part-time Development Intern to join its Labs team and drive internal AI automation initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, process analysis, and automated workflows, focusing on building, testing, and deploying intelligent software agents across financial operations.
  • In this position, the intern collaborates directly with investment analysts and associates to analyze standard operating procedures through first-principles breakdown. Selected candidates will author Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and construct AI agents using environments such as Claude Code, Codex, and Python, integrating them with systems like Pipedream, Excel, and custom CRM software. Offered through the firm's structured "Farm Program," this opportunity provides technical students or recent graduates with hands-on experience building functional AI applications while gaining valuable exposure to private equity and venture operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • ★ Participate in first-principles workflow sessions with team members to decompose operational procedures and identify steps for AI agent ownership.
  • ★ Draft concise Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) for each agent prior to development, detailing user roles, inputs, outputs, failure modes, and acceptance criteria.
  • ★ Construct and configure autonomous AI agents using Claude Code, Codex, Python, and mainstream agentic development tools.
  • ★ Integrate developed agents into existing company infrastructure, including Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, Framer, Pipedream, and CRM platforms.
  • ★ Test software agents against live business tasks alongside investment analysts and associates to identify execution breaks and failure points.
  • ★ Author and update comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) enabling non-technical team members to operate finished agents independently.
  • ★ Manage and update task statuses, project scopes, and technical blockers within the Dev Build Master tracking spreadsheet.
  • ★ Conduct project demonstrations and hand over completed agents alongside standalone documentation to internal teams and external clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • ★ Current enrollment in a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline (or graduation within roughly the last year).
  • ★ Practical programming ability in at least one general-purpose language (Python or JavaScript strongly preferred), including the ability to read and modify existing codebases.
  • ★ Demonstrated proficiency with agentic development environments such as Claude Code, Codex, or comparable AI-assisted coding frameworks.
  • ★ Hands-on experience building software agents capable of parsing instructions, planning tasks, executing API calls, and delivering outputs while managing unpredictability.
  • ★ Proven experience writing software Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supported by a writing sample.
  • ★ Clear written communication skills in full-sentence English prose for internal documentation and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ★ Familiarity with workflow automation platforms like Pipedream, Zapier, or n8n, along with experience connecting disparate APIs.
  • ★ Background exposure to finance, private equity, venture capital, or real estate concepts (e.g., understanding rent rolls or quality of earnings reviews).
  • ★ Front-end development experience using React, Next.js, or Framer to build interfaces for non-technical users.
  • ★ Experience running or contributing to performance evaluation and benchmark testing for AI systems.

Career Advancement & Program Structure

  • ★ The Farm Program: A structured career acceleration framework designed to compress traditional 8–10 year career progression timelines into 3–4 years.
  • ★ Phase 1 (Current Role): Compensated part-time internship as a Junior Analyst focusing on agentic software development and process decomposition.
  • ★ Phase 2 (Graduate Transition): Advancement into a full-time paid Analyst role upon university graduation based on defined performance benchmarks.
  • ★ Long-Term Pathway: Successful performers gain a clear progression path toward Junior Partner roles at de Anda Capital or affiliated platform firms, with fee and equity opportunities within 2 to 3 years.

What the Company Offers

  • ★ Paid part-time internship position (compensated role).
  • ★ Accelerated professional career trajectory through "The Farm Program."
  • ★ Pathway to convert into a full-time paid Analyst position upon graduation.
  • ★ Future earning potential including fee participation and equity opportunities within 2 to 3 years, leading toward Junior Partner tracks.

Application Tips

  • Applicants may want to highlight technical projects where they built autonomous software agents, integrated APIs, or utilized AI coding assistants like Claude Code or Codex. Including a well-crafted writing sample—such as a Product Requirements Document (PRD) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)—is essential, as written documentation is evaluated alongside technical skills. Candidates should also emphasize experience modifying existing Python or JavaScript codebases, along with any exposure to workflow automation tools like Pipedream or financial domain concepts.
